Adoption

Adoption is a legal process through which a person or a couple becomes the legal parents of a child who is not their biological offspring. This process typically involves the transfer of parental rights and responsibilities from the child’s biological parents to the adoptive parents. Adoption can take various forms, including domestic adoption (within the same country), international adoption (from another country), and foster care adoption (adopting a child who has been in the foster care system).

The primary purpose of adoption is to provide a stable and nurturing family environment for a child who may be in need of care and support. Once the adoption is finalized, the adoptive parents have the same legal rights and obligations as biological parents, and the adopted child is entitled to the same benefits as biological children, including inheritance rights. Adoption can have significant emotional and social implications for both the child and the adoptive family, and it is often celebrated as a way to create family bonds beyond biological ties.
